Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes

I'm thankful for time.
Sadly, time is something that we just don't seem to have enough of. So why don't people take better advantage of what time we have? Too many complain about not having the time to do everything they want to. What they are actually lacking is a sense of prioritizing and planning. (Although, some people really do try biting off more than they can chew... but for the most part, it all comes down to an excess of procrastination.)

So I'm thankful that I'm given 24 hours... 1440 minutes... every day in which I can do something with my life. That comes out to a lot of time in the end! 525,600 minutes in a year. And every minute counts.

Recently I've been able to spend my precious time with people I care about. That, combined with the fact that it was Emilee's birthday yesterday and Thanksgiving today, meant lots of fun and lots of food. LOTS of food.

My friends Devon, Matt, and I made this Indian food-style chicken stir fry for Emilee's birthday dinner.
And I got too see my aunt and her family today.
And they have 9 puppies. I seriously regressed back to the age of 5 when I saw them.
And my favorite part of dinner was the berry pie we made. SO good!

Don't let time slip through your fingers and just sit around waiting for life to come to you. Make life happen! Spend your time doing good, uplifting things with people who matter. Use time wisely... because you don't get that much of it.

I love this poem:

To Realize the Value of Time (author unknown)
To realize the value of one year:
Ask a student who has failed a final exam.
To realize the value of one month:
Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of one hour:
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of one minute:
Ask the person who has missed the train, bus, or plane.
To realize the value of one second:
Ask a person who has survived an accident.
To realize the value of one millisecond:
Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.
Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have.
You will treasure it even more when you share it with someone special.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
