Shirt - DownEast Basics // Maxi Skirt - CoziBear Boutique
Well folks, I've officially reached the halfway point in my pregnancy! Crazy! As you can see in the pictures, it has become evident enough that I am pregnant. The bump still isn't very large, but it is certainly noticeable. We will be going in for my ultrasound this week, and hopefully the baby will cooperate so we can find out the gender! But enough talk. Time for the bumpdate!
How far along: 20 weeks
Baby is: 6 1/2 inches, or the length of a banana
Symptoms: Very light nosebleeds in the morning. Round ligament pain. Occasional headaches.
Sleeping: I started feeling uncomfortable at night, which made sleeping difficult. Then I started using a body pillow that I can drape one arm and leg over. Sleeping patterns are now back to normal! (For now...)
Food cravings/aversions: Major cravings have died down, but I have small, brief cravings now and then.
What I'm missing: Being able to sleep on my back
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody? Happy :)
Belly button in or out? Still in!
Maternity clothes: I finally broke down and bought 2 maternity shirts, although my normal shirts still fit. I haven't purchased any maternity pants. I still have a couple pairs of normal pants that fit me, AND I've basically converted to wearing maxi skits, maxi dresses, and yoga pants every day anyways.
Movement: YOU GUYS! Up until recently, I've only felt little flutters here and there. On Thursday evening I was sitting on the couch and this baby started kicking up a storm! I could even feel the kicks through my belly with my hand and could see a little bulge appear in my tummy when baby kicked. I finally got Doug to feel a kick yesterday afternoon. Sure, it was in a dark movie theater (awkward?) at the very end of How To Train Your Dragon 2, but it was an exciting moment nonetheless.
What I did/got for baby: We have a baby swing! Battery operated. Swings back-&-forth and side-to-side. We got it used and free from a lady in my church who wanted to get rid of it. Score!
Best moment of the week: Feeling those baby kicks (which seem to happen on a regular basis now!)
What I'm looking forward to: Gender! Gender! Gender!
That's right, folks. As I said before, we find out the gender this week! And for those of you who enjoy looking at what the old wives' tales indicate, I've put together a little chart based on what certain old wives' tales predict about the gender of our baby.
This is all for fun and I don't really set much in store by these indicators. Besides - they seem evenly balanced!
Some of the old wives' tales are rather strange. I mean... not eating the ends of bread? How does that indicate anything?! And that's not even the strangest prediction method. Meh.
So... what do you think? Boy or girl?
We will know for sure in just a matter of days!
I agree that the old wives tales can be a little strange! I was all over the place in mine - it could have gone either way! And I am with you on the sleeping! The second I got a pillow my life became so much easier :)
