A fall-time picture.
Especially when it features a single, lonely, wet bench.

Photographers cannot deny their lenses opportunities such as these.
We cannot tear our eyes away.

The empty wood calls out to us.
For the warmth of a human body.
A break from the dreary leaves and rain.

And yet...
we do not sit.
Pants need to stay dry. Lives are too busy.
The rain and leaves make a lovely scene, nothing more.

We only have time to look.
To pause.
Take the scene in.
Perhaps take a picture.

And then... we walk away.
The bench is left as it was found.
Cold.
Untouched.
The scene preserved in a photograph.
Beautiful.
Lonely.
