The time I was part of a live studio audience

You guys.
My upcoming semester is gonna be jam-packed.

Please don't let me fall of the edge of the blogging world!

Just saying.

But I still have 2 weeks of summer left, so I'll enjoy it.

Meanwhile...
Doug and I got to be a part of a live studio audience!

My college has a legit Broadcasting Studio.
So, our campus comedy team has taken advantage of it.
They are in the process of finishing filming for their new TV show Studio C.
Doug and I got to sit and watch the filming process on Saturday night.

So. Funny.
There was more than one instance in which I had tears in my eyes.

No cameras or video recorders were allowed...
But I managed to snap a couple pictures before the recording began!

Oh...
Did I mention that I got to be an extra in a skit for one of the episodes?
True story.
I'm gonna be on TV!
You can read about it in this post.

The Time I Was In A Music Video

Wow, talk about being MIA blog-wise... but I'm back!
And it's been a busy week!

I love to dance. Love love love.

On Thursday, I got to dance my heart out. From 9 in the morning until 8:30 at night, I was helping with the filming of a music video that will be shown at the end of the Homecoming Spectacular for my college (BYU) in October.

I discovered that 11.5 hours is a long time to dance. Especially when there's only a one hour break for lunch and then you get right back to practicing choreography. And it's humid outside. But it's an experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. I got to spend time with members of the Cougarette Dance Team, The Young Ambassadors, some cheerleaders, and musical theatre dancers... and we all worked to create a great production!

Song: "Come So Far (Got So Far To Go)" From Hairspray
Location: The Maeser Honors Building... the oldest building on the BYU campus

Scene one: Lecture Hall

Scene two: big staircase

Scene three: The main hallway

Scene 4-end: Outside the building

We had some extras come join us at 5:30 and taught them some simple choreography. People as young as 10 and as old as 70-ish came to join us!

The Maeser Building is celebrating it's 100th Birthday this year. So... we made it the focus of Homecoming this year. After all, it is the cornerstone of this campus. The first building... and we've come so far since then! But we still have so far to go!

For those of you not familiar with the song... here it is (except we used the original broadway version). I'll put the music video up in a couple months once homecoming is done and we have access to it on YouTube.

Now I can check off a bucket list item... "Be in a music video".
Check!
If any of you have completed any bucket list items recently, I would love to hear about them!

Extra extra, read all about it!

And when I say extra, I MEAN extra!

I got to be an extra in a mockumentary that BYU's Divine Comedy was filming on Friday. It's not too big of a deal... I mean, I was just an extra... but Matt was the main character of this particular project, and he is by far my favorite DC member ever! It's too bad he's not gonna be on the team anymore this coming fall...

Anywho, this mockumentary was filmed as part of an episode of a TV show that DC has put together called Studio C. It will premiere on BYUTV in October. Oooooh, it's gonna be funny!

Here's a couple blurry, poorly-lit shots from the filming process.

We got our own make-up artist... which I didn't realize we'd be getting... oops

Like I said... blurry... but this is what I looked like! ......more or less......

The sound guy

There's Matt in the black suit, doing his rounds

My desk space

Aaaaaaand... here's me back home, trying to get a better shot of my get-up... one that's not blurry. I kinda like the "picture in a circle mirror" idea...

*****Since ya'll are reading my blog, you get to hear a few details of this mockumentary: all I'm gonna say is that it involves a Facebook Philanthropist, lots of "liking", DC member Jason guest-starring as a homeless bum, and "The Office"-style cinematography.

Earlier that same day in my Brit Lit class, my teacher's husband came in and made us nitrogen ice cream. (He's a Chemistry professor). It took about 2 minutes to make, and it was SO good!

Doug found a great deal on IBC root beer... I love that it's in glass bottles! It feels more authentic. And it was a 24-ct pack, so we have plenty more root beer where that came from. Yay for movie nights!

All in all, it's been a good weekend. Despite the fact that there are tons of wildfires down south, so the sky has been smokey and there's ash raining down everywhere... my prayers go out to those who are losing homes and whatnot because of the fires.

Looks gross, doesn't it?

Well...... 4th of July is coming up! Lots of fun stuff planned... stay tuned!
